Apprenticeships

It’s hard work getting into a job if you haven’t got the right qualifications or experience on your CV that an employer requires. But that’s where apprenticeships can make all the difference. At Prevista we work with employers across London to find exciting, varied and creative jobs for people to learn how to do the job whilst getting paid.

As an Apprentice, you’ll be employed directly by an organisation for around 12 months. During the employment you’ll have some off-site training, but most of the learning will be spent on the job. There are activities throughout the apprenticeship that count towards your qualification, but most of the qualification is achieved by our friendly Assessors observing the work you do on a day to day basis. Leaving you with a developed CV for future career growth.

How

The beginning

The first thing we need to know is what makes you tick, what you’re interested in and what type of personality you can offer an employer. We’ll get this through a chat on the phone or in person and through filling in some simple forms. We’ll then match you against some employers and get you ready to attend some interviews.

During the Apprenticeship

You’ll have a learning plan specific to you, your job and your employer.  This plan is broken into three parts:

  1. Workshops where we’ll cover key topics relating to your apprenticeship.
  2. An Assessor who will watch you at work and provide you with any support you need.
  3. A project which lets you focus on a specific piece of work you can carry out as part of your apprenticeship – a great opportunity to impress your employer.

At the end

Generally it takes about 12 months to complete an apprenticeship. At the end you’ll have a certificate proving your new nationally recognised qualification and sack loads of experience in the job that sets you apart from other job seekers.

Cost

Great news – there is no cost to you as an individual if you want to do an Apprenticeship. Unlike going to University or College, you can get yourself a qualification equivalent to A Levels or a Degree without becoming heavily in debt.

During an apprenticeship you even get paid by the employer whilst you learn how to do the job. The amount you’re paid varies from employer to employer. The simplest thing to do is to get in touch with Prevista today to find out what current apprenticeships are available.
