Qualifications

We understand how frustrating it can be for you to get an employer to recognise the skills you have. If you want to take on more responsibility, apply for a different job or have a successful conversation about a pay rise, you need to consider how you will get your employer’s attention and develop your CV.

Prevista can help you by assessing the skills you currently have and recognising them with a work based qualification. The qualifications will demonstrate to employers exactly how competent you are in your job and will be recognised in your CV by every employer across the UK.

The best bit, we will assess you whilst you work. Most of the qualification is assessment of you doing what you do everyday, assessments can be recorded not written and they are all tailored specifically to you and your job generally taking between three and six months to complete.

How

The beginning

Once we know you’re interested in doing a work based qualification we’ll approach your employer to discuss the options available. To make sure we get the best options available we’ll need to know a few things about your previous qualifications, the job you’re currently doing and your current residential address. This process is normally quite fast.

During the Qualification

After an induction workshop, you’ll be introduced to an Assessor who will be your point of contact throughout the qualification. They will visit you at your workplace and observe what you do. They’ll ask you questions and will either ask you to provide examples of how you approach different tasks – but don’t worry, if you’re not confident writing we can record your meetings.

At the end

Generally it takes about 6 to 11 assessment visits to complete a work based qualification. At the end you’ll have a certificate proving your new nationally recognised qualification and loads of experience in the job that sets you apart from other job seekers.

Cost

Great news – there is no cost to you as an individual if you want to do a work based qualification.

And if you have less than 5 GCSE’s (A – C grade) then it’s highly likely there is no cost to your employer either!

The funding around what is or isn’t included can be confusing. What we suggest is you either drop Prevista a quick enquiry or ask your employer to contact one of our Advisers and we’ll do the work for you to find out what you can access.
