‘In The Dark’ was an innovative dissemination campaign commissioned by Action for Blind People for the Visage partnership which created packages of support for blind and partially sighted people in employment. Instead of focusing on “death by PowerPoint” and standard reporting structures Prevista decided to simulate some of the barriers faced by blind and partially sighted people, through immersing the able-sighted audience of policy makers by literally hosting the event in the dark. The evening drinks reception, held at the Common Wealth Club, used UV lights to give a faint impression of the fellow guests. Extending the experience, a case study brochure was produced that also used print techniques to distort how the reader viewed information.
Funded by European Union EQUAL programme, Prevista hosted an interactive and celebratory conference that concluded a three year programme of community based business support. The event, held at the Mermaid Conference Centre in central London, attracted over 120 delegates for the one day event. Combining a mixture of large conference style presentations with smaller break out discussions, Prevista also worked closely with each partner involved to create a lively market place of exhibitors. The conference, which drew best practice from a range of culturally diverse partners, concluded with an interactive networking reception where delegates mingled alongside martial art performers and ate canapés during live Turkish music.
